Nonesuch, Mary Marie, Dora Collins ; and S.-rf Savin. Mary Answer, an Knglish two-year-old. imported by Oscar Lewisobn last summer, died of pneumonia at Ofasesaad. She was in John Whalcns stable. Hall, who lias had charge of several of the amateur racing organizations in the east, was recently appointed secretary for Ike Westminster kennel Club, the position having lieen made vacant by the death of James Mortimer. The opinion among horsemen in Now York is that American havers of horses in England have paid too much attention to buying yearlings instead t importing sonic *.f the older division. There are many g.xxi horses on the market in England three years old and over, which could be utilized to advantage in this country. There is no denying the fact that the handicap division is shy on good horses. George M. Hendrle of Hamilton is another Canadian breeder who is strengthening his stable by English importations. A batch of youngsters is now on the way to Canada. They were selected by the well-known Knglish trainer, W. Walters, a brother of trainer John Walters of the Hendrie stable. When all the calculations are made covering a good many #can past, it will probably be found that Ceorge M. Hendrie has boon the largest importer of blood stock in Canadian records. — Francis Nelson in Toronto C.lobe. Kildie Dugan. who was under contract to ride the August Belmont horses last season, is one of those who is IxHiked for New Orleans. Dugan can make HO peaads, and it is his intention to ride free lance at the Fair Grounds meeting. His elder brother, Willie Dugan, who rode Nealon to victory in the 1907 running of the Suburban Handicap, will also go to New Orleans, though it is not his intention to ride, he having retired from the saddle. Eddie Danas laalisi I has expired with Hie Belmont stable and he has not been engaged by any stable for 1910.
