Secretary McLennan has arranged his program tor this week with B view to getting out some of the stars iu a Bart of preliminary trial with the further View of getting them well seasoned tor their strenuous contests ahead. The disagreeable weather that prevailed duriug the past week did not cut much rtgure in the matter of attendance, the racing, however, suffered from the fact that the poorer grade of horaea were given abundant opportunity. With a return to good track conditions raame a raet improvement la the racing and Saturdays card i. mid hardly be improved on for a winter course. John W. Schorr increased his winning margin over the other owners at the track last week and is now close to the ,000 mark. Twenty-two owners have entered the ,000 list and 10S "owners have 8299 or more to their credit. A remarkable feature t" date is that such pretentious stables as those of K. L. Baker and J. S. Tyree have failed to send a winner to the post. .lockev Kcerner suffered a big slump in his riding during the week, but is still at the top among the riders here with eighteen victories. Then follow in order M. Garner. J. Kederis. .1. Metcalf. V. I.illey. C. Van Onsen. J. Hanover. .1. Rut well. V.. Ambrose. .1. MeTiggart and W. Andres; .
