February 0. — The last detail to assure a race meeting in this citv. which will begin about March 11 and continue for twenty one days, was concluded yesterday by President ins Strauss of the Business Mens League over the long-distance telephone with the owners of the Oaklawn track, who were iu St. I/ouis. The league at noon accepted the proposition maiie by the track owners and agreed to post the sum stipulated by Mr. Cella. Every feature discussed in connection with the project met with the appr • bation of both parties to the plan. Presfdeal Strauss, representing the league, made the first official announcement concerning this meeting. II. issued the following statement: •"There will be a twenty-one days race BKCtln" at the Oaklawn track beginning about March 11. It will be conducted tinder the auspices of the Business Mens League. All details have been satis factorily arranged. We anticipaie not alone 1 large crowd to witness the revival of racing in H-t Springs, but have the assurance that some of the best stables in the country will be here for this meeting." It was also stated that a representative of the Oaklawn track owners will leave St. Louis at once for New Orleans to interest horsemen in bringing their racers to this city. Hot Sprinaa merchants intend to make the Opening one of the greatest and most spectacular eeiits this city has ever seen.
