IRISH OWNER AND BREEDER DIES. The death took place on Wednesday. February 9. at Bridge- House. Knocklong. of Mr. D. Moloney, a well known Irish breeder anil owner of race horses. lie bred and raced both Bat-race and steeplechase horses, inn tig the- latter being Lizzie Kendal, Knocklong. The- Gale. BUsfeey Path. Ballincarrooua, Knocktoran, Tbomonds Pet. Sarsfield. Kirkbloemi and Ballyneety, the- latter being ente-red in the Grand National substitute at Gatwiek. and is now tlu- property of Mr. EL Malcomson. Ballincorroona, Sarsfield and Kirkbloom won several races in Ireland for Mr. Moloney before he sold them to go to England. Perhaps the- lust horse he had was Tho-inond. by Sweetheart — Lizzie- Kendal, which, in the i eileirs of Mrs. Meirton Jae-kson. accounted fe r thir-te-en races in Ireland, including the April Stakes, prior to going to India, where he- milled oft some good hurdle races, l.aeiv Edgar won for Mr. Ma-looey the- Phoenix Plate, the most valuable two year-old eveat in the Emerald Isle, ami. themgh not ipiit.- redeeming her early promise-, this daughter e f Sir Edgar and Movvallev afterwards won a few races in England. He got £1,000 for Her Ladyship, by sir Edgar — Princess Amie, as a yearling at auction, this tilly subsequently l eing purchased by Mr. Winans. for whom sin- turned out disappointing. Knight of the Heather, Simon Run anil Prime Edgar were also hreel ley Mr. Molone-y. who, on the- whole, achieved a fair share of suce-ess on tin- turf. He was only fifty-one years of age.
