JOCKEYS ANXIOUS TO ENLIST. A visit to n race, meetiag nowadays brings home to one that we are Uvtog in strange times. After the raeiag at Wiadsor on Batarday, one saw the novel spectacle of horses being schooled over hurdles by lady riders. The fair joi keys were the two Misses Wilmot. who were up on horses belom.ing to their father. Sir B. Wilmot. Experienced judges greatly admired their skill, and a race confined to lady riders would easily fill. Wearers of khaki were math in evidence at the Windsor meetiag, and there are now very few men of mOitory age associated with racing. Several Jockeys recently tried to enlist, among them beiag Filter. Clark. Collis. Bobbins and Stern. All save the firsf-nanied failed to pass, put Piper is now the proud possessor of OB armlet. Stern, of course, is the Anglo Flench jockey, and he was disappointed at not beiag aide to pass for the itritish army. — London correspondence Montreal Hazette.
