HONEY SHUCK, after being a forward contender from the start, moved up steadily after entering the homestretch and was hard ridden to outstay BEAUTY SPOT. The latter finished fast and gaining on the leader with every stride. SWEETER THAN SUGAR set a good pace, but tired in the last quarter. STARTER ran well. N. K. BEAL closed a big gap. The latter ran a game race and might have wou with a more energetic finisher up. WILL CASH raed in close pursuit of the leaders all the way. LUCKY GEORGE ran a poor race in favorable going. BACK BAY raced into the lead but tired after disposing of CARBIDE, and probably would have won had his rider gone to work sooner. TIAJAN ran well and outgamed PRINCE HERMIS in the final drive.
