MURPHY set a fast, earlv pace and held on gamely when ch llenged. but tired in the closing strides. GLOAMING Mulshed gamely on the outside under punishment. TOP O THE AVAAE took the lend at the start and led under hard pressure all the way, saved ground when entering the homestretch and hung on gamely to the end. MONOMOY raced in closest pursuit and finished gamely under punishment. GOLDEN KOI had no mishaps and raced forwardlv, but the leaders held her safe. DECKMATE finished gamely. THE FIXX gained rapidly on the outside of the leaders while rounding the lower turn and, racing into a long lead under urging, was easing up at the finish. KOAMER was forced wide on the stretch turn, but finished gamely under punishment. STROMBOLI saved ground on the turns, but tired in the fianl eighth. SHORT GRASS met repented interference and finished fast. ISA Y-HEKRY CANDLE ran next to the rail in the soft going and tired in the stretch. HOKKOW was shuffled back at the mile post.
