LOOKING FORWARD TO BOWIE MEETING. Baltimore. Md., October 24. Less than a month remains before the opening of the fifteen-day meeting of the Southern Maryland Agricultural Association at Prince Georges Park, the new race track at Bowie, Md.. November 14 to 30. iucluslve, and already the indications are that it will Iks the most successful in the history of the track. The meeting at the Bowie track will bring to a close the fall racing season in Maryland, which from every point of view has been one of the best in this state. Already stall reservations have been numerous. The same high-class thoroughbreds that have been in action at the other tracks in Maryland this season will race at Bowie, the owners having been attracted by the liberal purses that will be hung up by the southern Maryland people for the coming meeting. Superintendent Pending now has the track at .its "best, and since the spring meeting many improvements have been made to the plant. A large bleacher stand has been erected adjoining the grandstand, the paddock inclosed in glass with a passage for the public protected from the horses, and lawns added to the already picturesque makeup of the course. The infield has been graded, so that the horses . will now be in full view of the public throughout all the racing. The management of the Washington, Baltimore and Annapolis line, which runs direct to the track, has assured general manager James F. OHara of a decided improvement in the train service. It has arranged to jiaudle tha crowds without the slightest delay, ii large addition to its rolling stock during the last four months enabling it to provide a great many more trains.
