McDowells horses have won for him 0,409 the present year, as against 5,114 last year, when his colors were first thirty-eight times, as compared with llfteen times this season. The victory of America in the Cincinnati Trophy was his most prolitable race this year. The daughter of Voter Rracegirdle brought him 1916.sh,020 by that race. McDowells next best winner was the four-year-old Water-blossom, which had won nine races and 0,403 for McDowell in 1915. This year Waterblossom won but three times, but the Inaugural Handicap at Latonia helped to bring her total for the year up to ,159. Waterblossom also captured the Inaugural Dash at the Lexington spring meeting. America was sent east after her Cincinnati Trophy victory to bid for three of the good eastern two-year-old stakes, but in each of them met with poor racing luck in big fields.
