FORT BLISS REPEATS AT JUAREZ. Wins Feature Race Yesterday, His Second Victory in As Many Starts. ■ Paso. Tex.. January 9. — The two-year-old race was carded as the feature race today and resulted in a victory for Fort Pliss. which displayed good speed and won easily from barrier rise to finish. The opening number went to the well backed Zim. which was close up from the start and disposed of Itelus in the last sixteenth. The latter set an early aaca but tired. Another favorite won when Hocnir aunt xed tln third alter leading from start to finish. Jockey W. A. Carroll will depart tonight for New Orleans to report to his contract employer 1". M. Civill. The hitters horses will leave on Thursday in charge of trainer George Paul. Wade McLemoros three-year-old chestnut filly Sybil, winner of the Texas Futurity, run at the Juarez track, by arrangement with the Texas Thoroughbred Association, is regarded by many horsemen as the best three-year-old of her sex in the west, and predictions are being freely made that she will be able to stack up against the best of them when she is raced on the Eastern tracks the coming summer. Sybil is the especial pride of Mr. McLemore. who In til her at his ranch near Albany, Texas, ami who had the pleasure of witnessing her triumph in the Futurity. She is by Meeliek — Belle llankin. and is the picture of her dam. While at Juarez for a brief visit Mr. McLemore announced that he had disposed of his only stallion.
