LADIES DAY AT ORIENTAL PARK. Immense Crowd Witness Some Excellent Racing — M. Daly an Arrival. Havana. Culpa. January 9. — Today was Ladies Day at Orient Park. It was the first free occa -sion of the meeting and an immense crowd turned out. Keen sport was witnessed in a majority of the races. The feature race, a dash at a mile and fifty yards, wis won by Shooting Star, which beat Sevil-lian three p :rts of a length. The winner rui the lirst mile in 1:39 and equalled the track record. M. Paly arai an arrival from Penning this morning. He baa taken over the horses of Senor A. Lezama. succeeding G. I. Burke as the trainer of that establishment. Jockey Aaibcoae was at the track today and will be seen in the saddle tomorrow. It develops that Ambroses mount Lola did not bleed but was cut off and fell ia her race of Sunday. H. G. BedwetTa new apprentice. .1. Hetipel. whom he obtained from Jerome Bespeee, had his f ir~t mount at the meeting when he rode Inity in the second race.
