INTERESTING PROGRAM ARRANGED. Annual Hunter and Pony Races of Rockaway Hunting Club April 28 and May 5. New York. April 14. — Interesting programs have b.-cn arranged for the annual hunter and pony races of the Uockav.ay Hunting Club, to be held at Hewlett Hay Park. Saturday. April 2S. and the following Saturday. May ." . This two-day meeting will be the first amateur thoroughbred racing iu the north this year and marks the opening of the outdoor social season in this vicinity. At the outbreak of the war. the first impulse of the club members was to cancel the annual races. The recommendations of various army officers, including Jen. Leonard Wood, that athletic sports he kept and that horse racing in particular, because of ;ts beneficial effect on horse breeding ami training, be carried on as usual, led to the decision of the Koekaway Hunting Club to hold its meeting this spring as scheduled. A late entry for the Aspirant Plate is Shallow-Water by Banal Water— Okttaa, from J. E. Mad-dens stable.
