FAST WORK SHOWN AT LOUISVILLE. Louisville, Ky., May 25.— The Douglas Park track was in fine condition yesterday and the course was crowded all day. One of the liest moves of the day went to the credit of A. L. Kirbys four year-old colt Rifle Shooter, which worked a mile in 1:42%, the fractions being 24%. 4S, 1:14-.-, and 1:28. Mary 11. also showed a good mile, going the distance in 1:44, the fractional time being 24:-,. 40% and 1:15%. Other good work at a mile included Orange in l:4t -~. Manager Waite in 1:40-.-., Paramount in 1:45, Jack Salmon in 1:4B% and Prince Alltert in 1:45. John Guild was sent five eighths in l:03*f,. Sqiieeler worked a fast three-quarters, going the quarter in 2S%, half in 18%, five-eighths in 1 :02 and finishing hard held in 1:18%. The fastest five-eighths of the morning was that by Violet Bonnie, which ran the distance in 1:02-.-.. Among other good work worth mentioning was the following: Bufora, three-qimrters iii l:BMi; Markland. five-eighths in 1:85%; Tom Jr.. five-eighths in 1:00; Carl Ellwanger. three-eighths in 37%; Peter Hastings, half mile in 50%; Believe Me Boys, half mile in 4S; Safety First, half mile in U%; Honey Shuck, three quarters in 1:17; Dahlia, five-eighths in 1*84%; Diamond, half mile in 49%: Big Fellow, half mile in 50 % ; Batchler, three-quarters in 1:10% ; Toppv. three-eighths in 30%; Flounce, five-eighths in 1:03%; Solid Rock, half mile in 51%; Handicap, half mile in 49, and John llynes, five-eighths in 1:03%. Yesterday morning at the Downs some fast work was indulged in. Kalitans five-eighths in 1:01% being the fastest move of the day. Deliver went three-quarters in 1:14%. showing brilliant speed, going the quarter in 23%, three-eighths in 35%, half in 48%. Another good move at three-quarters was that of Apple Jack, which went the distance in 1:14%. the fractions being 23%, 4«. 1:01%.
