ONWA took the lead quickly and maintained his advantage to the end. KING BAGGOT raced in nearest pursuit of the leader, but tired in the last eighth and just lasted long enough to withstand GRUNDYS challenge. The latter gained steadily and finished with a belated rush on the outside. STAR-FINCH lacked speed and quit when the final drive came. The winner, entered for ,500, was bid un to ,200 and sold to E. ORMEAD raced under restraint all the way, passed the leader with case and won in a canter BAMBOO was a forward contender for the last mile and, finishing gamely under punishment, held the others safe. SOCONY was much used in racing with ROCK FISH and tired when challenged. STUCCO almost unseated his rider at the twelfth fence and lost considerable ground. QAQ7ft THIRD RACE 1 1-1G Miles. DEER TRAP followed the leader closely in the early running, responded gamely when called ou and drew away in the stretch. DADDYS CHOICE saved ground when entering the homestretch and responded gamely to punishment, but was in tight quarters next to the rail in the final eighth. GARBAGE showed excellent speed, but came, wide into the homestretch and tired in the final drive. OMAR KHAYYAM was saved behind the leaders until straightened out in the homestretch and after having suffered from repeated interference from the leader, came to the outside in the final eighth and, finishing fast, outstayed RICKETY in the final strides. RICKETY displayed great speed in pace-making, but swerved badly in the homestretch and tired in the closing strides. TICKET made a game effort on the stretcli turn, but also tired. Won driving; second and third the same. STAR CLASS, In a jam at the start, saved ground at the elbow, finished with a came chnllpniro and outstayed WOOD VIOLET in the final drive. WOOD VIOLET was forced extremely wide by the leader when entering the homestretch and took the lead at the quarter post, then tired and swerved to the inner mil, but held on gamely. SO LONG LETTY gained steadily and finished wearing the leaders down. ROSE DOR began badly and met with early interference. The last five at the finish were eased up in the final eighth.
