Gray rode the last three winners and carried off the honors of the opening day at Hill-crest Tark Tuesday. Jockey H. Dennler was set down for the remainder of the King Edward. John Sanfords three-year-old Achilles, a son of Star Shoot Veil, appears to possess a good turn of speed. Tlie colt, in winning the sixtli race at Aqueduct Tuesday, ran the mile in 1:38, over a truck "not considered fast. Achilles has won his last typ starts and finished third in his only other start of the year. Thorncliffe Park, where the Thorncliffc Park Racing- and Breeding Association will hold its meeting beginning July 21, is nearing a state of completion and those who have seen it pronounce the plant one of the most beautiful in the country.
