H H HEWITT LEASES LONGRIDGE FARM Will Mate His Twelve Mares with Skeptic Which After Breeding Season Will Be Trained Again Lexington Ky February 1 John I Smith man ¬ ager and trainer for H H Hewitt prominent Iuf falo and New York business man and turfman to ¬ day removed bis employers twelve broodmares from Melbourne Farm to Longridge Farm Melbourne Farm when for so long the breeding establishment of the late William Suddiith Harues was located was a sbort while ago sold by Mrs Harnes to a realty company which will convert it into a suburb ¬ an residential district Longridge Farm formerly was the property of John McCliutock but now is owned by John K Madden It is near the lAxing ton Country Club on the Maysville road and is not near the famous Elmendorf Farm which was established by the late James H Haggin and re ¬ cently subdivided by his estate It may be that Mr Hewitt will imrchase u yortion of Longridge Farm from Mr Madden but for the present he is only leasing it itThe The broodmares transferred are Cov Maid Pan Maid Star Maid Sister Hun o Luck Lucky AVave Badinage and Mission Hell all of which are to be mated this year with Skeptic the fouryearold son of Sain and Inspiration and which is to go into training again after the breeding season The other four mares are Inspiration to be mated with Star Hawk Avis Aviston and llazazza The last named has a chestnut colt by Hallot and will IK returned to Hallot The mating of Avis and Aviston lias not been definitely determined upon uponMARES MARES IN FOAL TO PROMINENT STALLIONS STALLIONSHun Hun Luck is in foal to Trap Hock and so is Luck AVave Mission Hell is in foal to Aulcain and Inspiration and Aviston to Hallot Hadinage lost twin to Hallot Pan Maid Star Maid and Sister are young mares and are to be mated for the first time Coy Maid is barren this year yearIn In addition to Skeptic the Hewitt string at the Kentucky Association track is composed of Medi ¬ tation now five years old Harold Lucky Day and Thrills threeyearolds and the following twoyear olds Sam Heh brother to Coy Lad b e by Peep oDay Coy Maid Singer cb e by Coy Lad Lnckv Wave Jaji halfsister to Skeptic b f by Coy Lad Inspiration Thirteen blk e by Coy Lad Hun o Luck LuckLucky Lucky Day will be the stables reliance for the Kentucky Dorby He is doing finely Herald was sick during tin early part of the winter with a fever and Smith will let him take it easy until he is iu perfect condition Thrills will be pointed for the Oaks I won the Oaks last year with a maiden says Smith and I may do it again Ginger is the pick of the twoyearolds He is letter look ¬ ing titan was his sire Coy Lad Thirteen is not as good as Smith some time ago expected he would be
