FRANCIS NELSON RETIRES FROM GLOBE BaltimiM-c, Md.. May 7. — Word reached here toduy that judge Francis Nelson, for many years connected with the Toronto Globe as sporting editor, has retin-d from the staff of that journal. The mem-liers of the editorial staff presented judge Nelson with a pair of handsome oriental vases as a token of their esteem. Judge Nelson officiated on the tracks of the "big circuit in Canada us steward and presiding judge. for the past twenty years and was as capable an official as he was a s|nirting editor. He lost one of his sons last summer. Major Nelson, who was killed in action at the front. The latter had the distinction of lieing the youngest major in the Canadian army. A
