ESCOBAS FINAL TRIAL WEDNESDAY Louisville. Ky.. May 7. — Partizans of F.scoba. the Kentucky owned colt, have taken on new ho|ic since their favorites victory in the Pnaf Trial at licx iiigton Monday, when the colt Ix-at Sewell Com lis in a driving finish, running the one mile and an eighth iu 1:51%. They believe this race is worth a half dozen work-outs and that it will do the colt a world of go.xl. Immediately after the race Kscoba, together with the other horses that John S. Ward is training, was placed alx.ard the cars and returned to his former quarters at Douglas Park, where his training will lx* completed. Trainer Ward stated that he would give the colt a try-out on Wednesday. This will lx his last work prior to his Derby engagement. "I am perfectly satisfied with the manner in which Escoba has been training." said Mr. Ward, "and I regard his chances in the Derby as good as any of the other candidates. lie came out of his race in fine fettle and is almost ready to give battle to the others that will start iu the l erby."
