w CANADIAN STAKES TO BE CONTINUED Flan to Run Kings Plate and. Provincial Nursery at Blue Bonnets Track in September. Montreal. Que.. May 14. — The Kings plate and the lrovincial Nursery Stakes, two i:o able races for Quebec-bred horses, will be run at Blue Bonnets iu September next, on a day yet to Is- fixed. In accordance with the Dominion governments order-in council there will, of course, he no betting, the two events being part of an entertainment for the bene fit of the Canadian Red Creea Society given by the Montreal Jockey Club, with the co-ois-ration of local horsemen. Tie- pn-gram will be a varied one. and will include the Kings Platte and the Provincial Nursery, which will he the only races on the program, being in eluded with a view of sustaining the interest of local breeders during the period of the war. when all race meetings have been suspended. Iu addition to the two races mentioned, there will be some saddle, hunter aud pony classes, as well as other features of an interesting nature. The Hon. J. K. Caron. minister of agriculture let the Province of Quebec, has signified his intention of giving the usual grants from his department to the breeders of the first four horses in the Kings IMale ami Nursery Slakes. Thus there will l»e two Kings Plale rices la Canada this yeai.
