* MILITARY DAYS AT DOUGLAS PARK Soldiers to Be Guests of Management on Each Wednesday and Saturday of the Meeting. Louisville. Ky.. Slay 22. — As the day approaches for the oncuiug of the Douglas Park Jockey Clubs spring meeting of fourteen days, from Slonday. Slav 27 to Tuesdav, June 11. it becomes more and more evident that new standards are to be set at this course this spring, both for the brilliancy of the racing and for patronage. Nobody can recall when Douglas Park racing commanded as much attention in advance of Hie opening of a meeting at that beautiful track as is the cas, just now. General Slanager Hachmeister made several interesting announcements today in relation to the approaching meeting. One was to the effect that. General Hale being willing, the same privileges which have been extended t" the soldiers from Camp Zachary Taylor at Churchill Dinviis will be continued nt liouglas Park, which is eveu nearer to the camp than the other track. Sir. Hachmeister will confer with General Hale within a day or two concerning the matter and if General Hale agrees, each Wednesday and Saturday during the Douglas Park meeting will be set aside as Slilitary days, ui»on which occasions the men from the canny will be admitted to the infield of the track to enjoy the racing. Auother announcement was that Wednesday, May 29. the third day of the meeting, had been set aside as Ladies day. in accordance with the custom at this track. Ipoii this occasion ladies will lie admitted free of charge to the track when accoin pauied by a male escort. If the Slilitary day arrangements arc carriid out as planned. Ladies day will be doubly important since it will be Military day aa well.
