w JOCKEY F. RICKABY MISSED CHANCE If F. Kickaby. Lord Derbys first jockey, had lieen able to obtain leave from his commanding officer to ride Ferry in the hie Thousand Guineas, he would have been able to claim the unique record of having won five "One Thousands" out of the six decided since 1912 and four in succession. Kickaby won on J. B. Joels Jest in 1913. ou L.rd Ruselterys Vaucluse in 191.1. ou Ijord Derbys Canyon in 1910 and ou L.rd DAbemons Diadem in 1917. Duly Fordhnm has beaten this, he having ridden seven winners of the hie Thousand with long intervals between them. — London S|tortsnian.
