The latter showed the most early speed and. setting a great pace, held on well to the end. ST. BEBNAIJD had to work his way through in the stretch and finished fast and gamely. COL. TAYLOR ran well, but tired in the last eighth. BILLY KELLY dropiied out of forward contention in the first quarter. TICKLISH avted liadly at the post and ran a ]ioor race.
