FINE FIELD FOR QUICKSTEP will be the sixth running of the Quickstep Handi ¬ cap of 2000 added on Wednesday and the seven ¬ teenth running of the Cincinnati Trophy of 4000 added the most valuable of western races for two yearolds on Saturday The Quickstep Handicap will bring to the post one of the finest sprinting fields of the year Of the seventy siXT xligiblcs to which handicappcr J B Campbell assigned weights it is expected that about a dozen will accept and on this basis the race will have a gross value of something like 3710 and a net value to the win ¬ ner of about 3000 The field in all probability will be recruited from among such eligibles as Ed ¬ ward B McLeans Leochares 130 J N Camdens Solly 120 W F Poisons Basil 115 E Trotters Troilus 115 J S Wards Boniface 114 A K Macombers Fruit Cake 113 J Umensetters J J Murdock 112 A L Kirbys Violet Bonnie 10S C T Worthingtons Viva America 109 J P Res pess Gipsey George 105 It L Bakers Tacola 10 G J Longs Freecutter 104 Morris Waltlens Quietude 100 and T C McDowells St Augustine 90 90Gipsey Gipsey George won this race last year in tlie colors of T B Goodman who had claimed him a few days previously This year Gipsey George is again an eligible for the race but as a member of the stable of J B Resposs Other winners of this race since its institution as a Latonia fixture in 1913 include Helios The Widow Moon Hodge and Kath ¬ leen leenTlie Tlie running of the Quickstep Handicap on Wednesday will serve as an attraction par excel ¬ lence for the second Ladies day of the meeting Ladies accompanied by escorts will be admitted free except for the war tax charge of ten cents each and a special effort will be made by Racing Secretary Campbell to provide a program that will be iu keeping with the importance of the occasion in every detail
