COMPLETE STATISTICS OF THE EMPIRE CITY RACING ASSOCIATIONS SUMMER MEETING The summer meeting of the Empire City Racing Association began at Yonkers July 13 and came to an end on July 31 embracing sixteen racing days during which time ninetyseven races were decided and 118250 distributed in stakes and purses The daily average distribution amounted to 7390 Lack of horses during the first week of the meeting resulted in small fields engaging in the racing but the arrival of the Kentucky contingent relieved the situation in that respect While most of the larger establish ments shipped to Saratoga after the close of the Aqueduct meeting representatives from some of those stables with stake engagements at Empire City were left behind Roamer and Jack Hare Jr being the most prominent of them The failure of the James Butler stable to figure prominently in the results at Empire City where in former years he achieved marked success was one of the outstanding incidents of the meeting Andrew Miller was the chief money winner among the owners with 6875 to his credit du princi ¬ pally to the success of Roamer in the Empire City and Mount Vernon Handicaps The following are the winning
