LOOKS FOR GOOD MEETING AT JAMAICA Saratoga N Y August 13 Racing Secretary W C Edwards of the Metropolitan Jockey Club while distributing stake blanks for the stakes to be run at Jamaica in the fall is sanguine over the prospects of the meeting to be held from September 30 to October 12 12We We may not make any money at the autumn meeting said Mr Edwards but we ought to have racing around New York in the fall of the year the same as in years gone by This year we are giving away considerable money in stakes and purses many of the stakes having an added money value instead of being guaranteed Our purses too will compare well with the nresout custom there being no offering of less than 500 and the handicaps will have 700 and SOO added the latter sum going to handicaps over long courses coursesWe We shajl endeavor to comply with the request of the Jockey Club and give three or four races of at least a mile and a quarter each week
