NO CRIPPLES AT SARATOGA THIS YEAR YEARSaratoga Saratoga N Y August 27 It is worth while Hitting that no horses of any prominence have broken down here this year in marked contrast to the record of last year when ro many went wrong as the result of the unsatisfactory condition of th track It was the complaints growing out of the mining f several good horses that led the Sara ¬ toga Association to reconstruct its course for this vcars racing and the result is all that the most exacting trainer could ask askPigeon Pigeon AVing which lias won two races here in the colors of Harry Payne AVhitney is regarded by lcr stable connections as a filly of more than ordi iiirv ability She is by Hamburg Dovelet and lias a fine turn of speed Ophelia which had her driving to win in her last race is picked by the xiKrts to develop into a highclass marc She is Englishbred being y Senseless Ghent Azalea J o Kwne Ixjught her as a weanling in England jinil sold her here last year as a yearling for SI 400 Some good judges who looked her over in tli paddock here pronounced her to IK as good looking a filly as they had seen in many u day AVIien it came to the running of the race Friday she showed sensational speed in running into forward content ten in making the turn and Pigeon AVing was doing her best from the time that Ophelia joined her in the stretch until the race was over Ophelia was purchased by her present owner Mrs J E Davis at the dispersal sale of the late Schtiyler L Parsons horses
