BREAKS AMERICAN RECORD Pen Rose Hangs Up New Mark of 55 for Fiveeighths Straight Equals Best Time Made in Eng ¬ land at Same Distance Tom McTaggart Disqualified New York September 12 Todays si ort at Bel mont Park was enlivened by a remarkable demon ¬ stration of speed on the part of the good two yearold filly Pen Uose which established a new American record of 55 for fiveeighths of a mile over
