LATONIA MEETING TO BE A HUMMER Will Be Greatest in a Racing Way Ever Staged in Kentucky at This Season of the Year Cincinnati O September 21 Unless all signs fail the Latonia Jockey Clubs fall meeting sched ¬ uled to run for twentyone days from October 10 to November 2 will be a hummer There will be general disappointment in wellinformed racing circles if it docs not turn out to be the biggest thing in a racing way ever staged on a western track at this season of the year Latonia has come to the front among American racing organizations with Riant strides of late and the magnificent success of tho recent summer meeting at this track which set a new standard for the western turf in the way of patronage and general excellence is taken to foreshadow a similar showing there this fall fallTlie Tlie brand of racing which will be provided at Latonia will be in keeping with the growing im ¬ portance of Latonia as a racing center if the ex ¬ pectations of the management are realized The management has done its part by raising the over ¬ night purse to unprecedented values No race meeting ever held in America east or west has ever made such a showing as will be made at Latonia this fall in this respect and judging from the lively demand for stalls already far in advance of the opening of the meeting the horsemen of the country are duly appreciative of the liberality of the Latonia management and will rally to the support of the meeting in a manner that will leave nothing to be desired desiredIn In addition to the five stakes already announced for decision during the meeting General Manager John Hachmeister has scheduled two overnight special races each of 2000 value named in com ¬ pliment to Cincinnatis leading hotels the Sinton ind the Gibson which will be included in the stake program One will be for twoyearolds and the other for threeyearolds and over The distance Hid other conditions of these races will be announced later by Racing Secretary J B Campbell CampbellManager Manager Hachmeister has announced the following schedule of dates for the decision of the stakes stakesLatoiiia Latoiiia Inaugural Handicap 3000 added for threeyearolds and over one mile and onesix ¬ teenth Thursday Octol er 10 10Fort Fort Thomas Handicap 8000 added for two yearolds threequarters of a mile Saturday Octol r 12 Gibsii lIatel iiciaL for twojuuirphls Wedues dav Ocfolier Autumn Selling Stakes 2000 added for three yearolds and over one mile Saturday October 19 19Sinton Sinton Hotel Special for twoyearolds and over Wednesday October 23 23Queen Queen City Handicap 5000 added for twoyear olds one mile Saturday October 28 28Latonia Latonia Cup 7500 added for thre yearolds and over two and onequnrter miles Saturday November 2 2Wednesday Wednesday October 1C and Wednesday October 23 when the two 2000 specials are to be run have been set aside as Ladies days on which occasion all ladies accompanied by escorts will be admitted free of the usual charge Ladies days have always proved to be popular occasions at Fair Latonia ind the gentle sex usually turn out in large num ¬ bers to enjoy the greatest of all outdoor sports
