MAKE GOOD ON YOUR LIBERTY BOND Millions of subscribers to tlic Fourth Liberty Loan are now on their mettle mettleThey They are face to face with the job of completing their payments It will take nerve courage and staying power It will take selfdenial Sub ¬ scribing for the bonds and making the first pay ¬ ment of 10 per cent was a sign of loyalty to the Government and to the Army and Navy NavyKeeping Keeping up the payments until the Liberty Bonds are fully paid for that is the real test of mettle Anybody is likely to be carried away by the fervor of a revival meeting It takes earnest ¬ ness to live up to new principles for the rest of ones life That is the real test The same thing applies to the duty of making good our pledges for the Fourth Liberty Bonds From now until January 30 1919 a steady sustained effort to save and meet Liberty Bond installments will indicate 24karat patriotism and character characterEvery Every person who signed a Liberty Bond applica ¬ tion and made the initial payment assumed an obli ¬ gation of honor To neglect that pledge or to let the subscription lapse would be a shameful thing No rightminded person will fail to carry out his Liberty Loan subscription pledge unless actual dis ¬ aster makes it necessary to shift the burden on someone else elsePut Put the Liberty Bond payment money right into the bank every week or every month just as soon after pay day as you can Then the money will be ready and waiting when the installments fall due dueDo Do not let anybody induce you to sell any Liberty Bond you have paid for Do not let anybody in ¬ duce you to turn over your Liberty Bond as first installment on a piano or anything else Have those Liberty Bonds entered uy in your saving bank book and make an arrangement with your bank if possible to have the coupons clipped and added to your account accountAlways Always deposit in your savings account the in ¬ terest money received for coupons cut off your Lib ¬ erty Bonds In tiiis way you enjoy compound in ¬ terest and get ahead faster fasterEvery Every Liberty Bond that is sold throws a strain on some bank or on the Government Every Liberty Bond that is unnecessarily disposed of tends to di ¬ vert money from the conduct of the war And it deprives the owner of the benefits of his own self denial and thrift thriftTherefore Therefore If Jo want to keep peace with your own conscience and maintain your own selfrespect take great care on all these points pointslSet lSet aside out of your pay the money needed to meet Liberty Bond installments under your plan of payment Put that money in a bank 2 Do not lapse on your Liberty Bond sub ¬ scription for any reason whatever short of some absolute disaster 3 Do not sell your Liberty Bonds unless com ¬ pelled by dire necessity to raise money and then try to borrow on the bonds instead of selling them 4 Do not let anybody induce you to trade in your Liberty Bonds for merchandise merchandiseHang Hang tight to all your Liberty Bonds and com ¬ plete all the payments by brave and persistent caving sacrifice and selfdenial That is the way to get the utmost possible return from your fi ¬ nancial and moral investment
