LARGE CROWD AT ORIENTAL PARK Cuban Owners Win Two Eaces Continuous Racing During Holiday Season HAVANA Cuba December ± J Perfect racing weather brought out a tremendous gathering at Oriental Park this afternoon There was a decided improvement in track conditions and with it came an improvement in the racing Interesting contests were in order and some of the finishes were close enough to arouse much enthusiasm Sunningdalo enthusiasmSunningdalo the pronounced favorite in the first race made good in decisive fashion after beginning slowly and permitting Weymouth Girl to set the pace eighthSenor to the last eighth Senor A II Diaz colors were carried to victory in the second the mare Lady Matchmaker taking the measure of Quiu Prince Bonero and The Grader the ones most favored in a betting way Another wayAnother Cuban owner scored iu the third when Senor A Lezamas Fniscuelo beat Kernau a neck in a driving finish the latter losing because he kept throwing up his head when Howard went to tin whip Lola the favorite in this race was prac ¬ tically eliminated when she lulled n i at the start Nevertheless she finished well Ralph wellRalph S was considered best in the fourth but ran a disappointing race and was never prominent The winner turned up in Jimmy Burns which beat Artist by a length and a half Petlar halfPetlar led all the way in the fifth to score in a manner suggesting that the old Englishbred son of Collar was easily best bestLeoina Leoina ran a sparkling race to account for the sixth holding Robert L Owen safe from start to finish finishIt It was exceedingly close in the final race of the afternoon Baby Sister getting a wellearned deci ¬ sion over John W Klein the outstanding favorite favoriteW W J Daly sent two winners to the post one being Frascuelo owned by A Lezama and trained by Mr Daly and the other was Jimmy Burns which carried his own colors Lady colorsLady Matchmakers victory in the second marked the first winning race scored by Seiior A II Diaz whose horses are now being trained by W Mc Daniel It is for this stable that jockey W Knapp made the trip to Cuba CubaIt It was announced today that racing will be held continuously from this date until January 5 and thereafter every day except Mondays
