RACING STATISTICS OF THE HA VAN A MEETING FROM DECEMBER 8 TO AND INCLUDING DECEMBER 31 I 1 1 The annual winter meeting of the Cuba-American Jockey Club, which opened at Oriental Park December S, is now. well in its stride and promises to increase in importance and favor as it progresses. Up to and including December 31, 1918, the meeting embraced twenty racing days, during which time 125 races were decided and 1919.sh5,020 distributed among the winning owners. The daily average distribution amounted to ,281. The weather has been the only serious drawback encountered thus far, frequent rainy spells keeping the track in such a condition that only pronounced mud runners and horses of sturdy conformation are able to show to advantage. Latest reports indicate that the prospects are that the rainy days are over and it will not be long before the track will be at its best. Despite the in-celement weather the patronage has been uniformly good, with record-breaking attendances on Sundays and special occasions. Frank Weirs horses have been winning the lions share of the purses at Oriental Park, with the result that that popular turfman leads the winning owners witli 1919.sh,010 to his credit, nearly double that won by K. Spence, his nearest rival on the list. The following owners won 00 or more each: Owner. 1st. 2d. 3d. Amt. Weir, F. D 13 0 4 $ 0,010 Spence. K 6 7 5 3,540 Schelke.
