Hie Prix du President de la Re-publique Handicap Steeplechase is usually of the value of 5,000, while the last Grand Prix at Nice was of the value of 0,000 to the winner. The same year I he winner of the English Grand National was credited with 7,575, and there is no other prize in England of anything like that value.
