McClelland in 1917 won the modest total of 4,091. Practically the same amount would have been won in 1918 had not Eternal been in tlie McClelland stable. But he was there and proved himself such iv persistent money grabber that he went into winter retirement the leading money-winning horse of 1918. Moreover, if he remains sound and makes normal improvement he is already vested with great money-winning possibilities in 1919, being already in the 0,000 Latonia Championship Stakes, as well as other important closed stake races, and sure to be nominated to the Kentucky Derby and the Latonia Derby. With the start he already has it ,is quite within the. range of possible accomplishment that he may win a place in the illustrious list of horses which won 00,000 or more. Of the other ten horses which raced for the stable only Madame Herrmann and The Wanderer won races, tlie filly Jane Frances, which won the Queen City Championship Stakes of 1917 for T. P.
