ANCIENT AND REMARKABLE CRICKET The following note appeared in the "Herts Mercury" a hundred years ago, and lias been reprinted in that newspaper: "Extraordinary Cricket. A match of cricket was played at AVoking between eleven gentlemen of AAoking and eleven of Shiere. In the first innings AVoking obtained 71 runs, Shiere then went in and made also 71; second innings AAoking also 71, second innings Shiere also 71. It was consequently a tye game, under circumstances unprecedented in the nunals of cricket playing."
