SANDY LAI was hard ridden for the entire race and, saving much ground when coining into the stretch, outstayed the poorly ridden GALLANT LAD. The latter raced into the lead nnd was being eased up in the last seventy yards and would have won oft with alert riding. BOH HENSLEY raced close up all the way. PORT LIGHT set the pace to the stretch, but tired badly in the last eighth. WORDS O WISDOM had no mishaps. LADY LUXURY was badly outrun. Scratched 10099s Green Grass. 10G. RHYMER gained steadily from a slow beginning, but could not recover from the interference he suffered and had to race wide in the worst going through the stretch. BLUE ROCK had no mishaps, but tired after racing into the lead. BRICKLEY ran well. WILLDO tired in the stretch. EVELYN V. set the pace to the far turn and quit. TRANSPORTATION quit in the stretch. IRREGULAR was hard ridden, gained steadily and was going fast at the end. BROWNIE McDAWELL ran well and had no mishaps. BROOM PEDDLER ran below his true form and tired in the last .quarter. OBOLUS was -always outrun. GIPSY QUEEN set the early pace and quit. HANK ODAY sulked most of the way.
