4, : . ! Jf, EARNINGS 0E THE BIG BAND OF HORSES WHICH RACED UNDER THE COLORS OF JEFFERSON LIVINGSTON LAST YEAR : . Jefferson Livingston raced thirty-six horses last year, of which nineteen were foreign -bred, but no star of the track developed from among them. The result was the stable fell off in money won in comparison with 1917, when its aggregate was 55,813. It missed the services of Colonel Vennie sadly. That good horse could not stand training and his future is now in stud service. A speedy Dick AVelles two-year-old. Major Parke, was its main money earner. He was a speedy colt which won four of his nine races and, if he makes normal improvement, should prove a useful three-year-old. Xext to him in money won was the sprinter Prince of Como, which was in line form early in the racing year. Three English horses. Annua, Sansyming and Melus, each contributed more than ,000. Before he made his appearance in racing there was a widely circulated report that John I. Day was a colt of uncommon excellence, but when put to the test he quickly gave the He to the rumor and, in fact, won but one race in twenty-live starts. The majority of the horses composing the stable of 1918 were disposed of in the course of the racing season, none of them except Regal Lodge afterward proving a loss to its strength. Its record for the year was: Horse Col. and Sex. A. Pedigree. 1st. 2d. 3d. Won.
