OLD BEN moved iin rapidly after going three-quarters and drew away in the stretch to win in a canter. AMALGAMATOR showed speed and, racing into the lead, held on well in the stretch to save second place. PETIT BLEU came fast in the last quarter and was taken unnecessarily wide, but finished well. FOUNTAIN FAY raced prominently from the start and outstayed SLUMBERER through the last sixteenth. SLUMBERER was well up all the way and finished gamely. The others wore beaten off at the end.
