MOTHER OF SHANNON BOYS IS DEAD LEXINGTON, Ky., February 23. Mrs. Mary Shannon, 05. widow of John Shannon and mother of the late Tommy Shannon, in his day a popular turf celebrity, died suddenly of heart failure at her home here this morning. She is survived by two daughters and four sons, James, manager of Idle Hour Farm; John, local representative of the Short Grass Stud Co.; Barry, general manager of E. R. Bradleys Kentucky interests, and Robert, an owner and trainer of several horses. In earlier days her brothers, the Mahoney boys as they were called, were identified with racing. The funeral will be Tuesday:morning.
