t T f j BIG ARRAY OF HORSES WHICH RACED SO WELL -FOR WILLIAMS i .BROS. AS TO LACE THEM SIXTH IN LIST OF WINNING OWNERS The western racing Arm or Williaiiis-Jlros. enjoyed their most successful racing year.iu 1918. In all, they started forty-one horses, the majority of which were of their own breeding. Nine of those raced won nothing, but the others raced to such good effect as to place their owners in sixth place in the owners list with a record of seventy-seVen races won, more than were placed to the credit of any other! stable engaged in our rueing, that of J. K. I Ross being second with sixty-four" races. .There were no great racers in the stable, the best of them being no-better than high-cjass selling platers, but the. Williams horses were always :well trained and fit and were so sagaciously placed" in their racing that their aggregate measure of success was really astonishing. The gelding Sun God and the colt El Key were their best nioney winners, each taking nine races and over ,000. El Rey proved himself a good stayer when he defeated Lucky B. aiid Moscowa for the Louisville Cup at two miles, but Sun God was the better horse of the two at shorter distances and gifted with -speed of. a high order.
