En-wards, racing secretary of the Metropolitan Jockey Club, lias announced the list of stakes to be run 1 at the spring and summer .meetings at Jamaica. , Seventeen feature events are provided for both meetings, seven for the first, which begins Mary 15. inaugurating tiie metropolitan, season of 1010, and 1 ten for the second, which I egins June 12 and continues to June 21. The Paumonok and Kings County handicapsr the -NewtownHighlundrColoradi, .Suffolk and Montauk Stakes" are the attractions t or tiie . opening meeting, while the Excelsior, . Long Beach, Southampton, Stuyvesant and Rainbow handicaps and Garden City, Olympic, Youthful, Bosedale and Greenfield Stakes make up the features to be decided at the June meeting. Three new stakes have been added to the list : tiiis year the Rainbow Handicap of ,000, the Olympic Selling Stakes of ,000 and the Montauk Selling Stakes of ,000. Besides this the values of the three-year-old features have been increased, the : Southampton and Stuyvesant Handicaps from ,500 1 to ,000 each, while the Colorado Stakes, for two-year-olds, will have a guaranteed value of ,000 1 this year, instead of the ,000 of last year. Altogether the seventeen stakes are of a guaranteed value of 0,000, with the Excelsior, Kings , County, Long Beach, Paumonok and Southampton Handicaps and the Youthful and Colorado Stakes heading the list witli a guaranteed value of ,000 each. Six of the events are exclusively for two-year-olds, witli a total of 9,000 in guaranteed money; three for three-year-olds exclusively, witli a total of 2,000 guaranteed money, while the remaining eight are for horses of the older division, the total guaranteed money of these events amounting to 9 000.
