WASHINGTON RACING BILL DEAD SEATTLE Wash March 15 The Washington State Racing Commission bill has been put in a comatose state where it will remain in slumber for the next two years according to Robert A Hiller who was active in support of tho racing bill Hil ¬ ler states that the measure went to sleep of ennui ennuiDuring During the past week the leaders of the com ¬ mittee of rules of the house of representatives favored the bill but it had been allowed to go without recognition until too late One of the sur ¬ prises in connection with the consideration of the racing law was that Mrs Frances M Haskell chairman of the public morals committee was the only member of the committee to understand the intended workings of the measure and to favor its enactment Mrs llaskell is the only woman member of the legislature legislatureHiller Hiller stated that friends of the measure will l e working in the interest of a racing commission for this state for the next two years and feel highly encouraged to know that the broadminded member of the house and senate took enough in ¬ terest penonally to look into how racing is con ¬ ducted in Kentucky
