LEOCHARES LOOKS BETTER THAN EVER LOUISVILLE Ky April 10 John F Schorr who recently arrived at the Downs with the stable of Edward B McLean has not definitely decided to transfer any of his horses to Lexington In all probability he wiij elect to remain where lie Is and get his charges ready for the opening of the Church ¬ ill Downs meeting Schorr believes that this would be the best plan and unless he changes his arrange ¬ ments Uncle White the stables Kentucky Derby eligible will not be given a race until his Derby eneagqment eneagqmentLocal Local horsemen have been commenting favorably on the superb appearance of the veteran Leochares which recently reached here witli the other member of the McLean stable They believe that the aged son of Broomstick and IxMiyonarn looks better than he dil several years ago when he was winning many races in the colors of John W Schorr and they aver that if he continues to train soundly that the gelding will prove to be one of the best sprinters in the handicap division this spring During his seven years of racing activity Leochares has started in 139 races of which he has won fifty lias been second thirtyfour times third twenty times and unplaced on thirtyfive occasions truly a most creditable record His total earnings amount to this neat sum of 4843 i His winning races include numerous victories in stake races
