CRACK MACOMBER RACERS IN NEW YORK Star Hawk and liberty loan Reach Belmont Park in Good Condition XEW YORK X Y May 2 Three horses have come from California to A 1C Macombers stable at Belmont Park Two of them are Star Hawk and Liberty Loan The other is said to be War Star Both Star Hawk and Liberty Loan have seen stud service while on the coast but have since beeii trained by Charley Booth They landed here two days ago in excellent condition and well ad ¬ vanced in preparation for racing They have only l een cantered so far but will be sent along from now on though they may not be started before the last days at Belmont Star Hawk has not raced since 191G and Liberty Loans last appearance was in 1917 The latter is a long route horse Star Hawk also but Liberty Loan has given indication that he might be trained for Cup races With these additions to the Macomber stable Mr Jen ¬ nings has a fairly strong hand there being tliirty eight horses in the stable Happy Huston will do most of the riding ridingWilliam William Karrick left Belmont Park last night for Pimlico with his Preakness candidates and some others of less note Sweep On and Terentia are keyed up to racing and it might be that botli will start in the Preakness Sweep On ran a good mile yesterday morning in 144 anp Terentia was sent threequarters in 115 without much effort She is a thingsThe filly that promises great things The Welch and Joyner horses are almost ready for some strenuous work and may be called on to ¬ morrow for speed tests testsOmar Omar Khayyam at Pimlico yesterday fulfilled the predictions of those who have watched his exercises this spring but some of the trainers re ¬ frained from wagering on him owing to the sloppy condition of the track There is every indication he formWith has returned to his threeyearold form With no racing in Canada promised for the early spring the stables on Long Island tracks are likely to be filled to overflowing when the Maryland meetings close This means fields of twenty and more horses in the cheaper races All the secre ¬ taries hereabouts are being deluged for stable ac ¬ commodations
