LATONIA FAST ONCE MORE Big Attendance Marks Welcome Change in Track Conditions Owner Kelley Scores with Bru ¬ nette n and Pastoureau Foreign Bred Horses Win LATONIA Ky Tune 28 The Cliicago owner F J Kelley had his colors much In the limelight during the afternoon and they were carried to vic ¬ tory on two occasions while another representative from his stable also landed in second place It also marked a field day for horses of foreign breeding as three English racers triumphed in succesive order On two occasions the first and second horse were foreignbred foreignbredThe The trio from the Kelley stable are all foreigners The diminutive jockey Boyle shared the honors with the Kelley establishment for he piloted two of the winners In lien of any stake feature the Salva ¬ tion Army Handicap at a mile and an eighth held the place of honor as the purse in this was 2300 Pastoureau was the victor with Haider and Beaver kill following him closely Boyle rushed Pastoureati into a jood lead at once closely followed by Beaverkill and Kaider and the light weight the Kelley representative had up stood him in good stead for he continued to hold the others safe dur ¬ ing the entire race and the finish found him easing up Raider and Beaverkill engaged in a spirited but brief stretch duel with Raider proving the bet ¬ ter terPrevious Previous to Pastoureaus success Brunette II carying the Kelley colors achieved an easy success over Ginger with Paris Maid Just managing to outlay YnlcanHc for third place There was solid support in the race for Bellsolar but that filly made a dull showing showingProspector Prospector like Brunette II and Pastoureau is foreignbred and he had little difficulty in lead ¬ ing his opponents home in the fifth race But his start today brought him a change of owner ¬ ship for he was claimed by II Neusteter repre ¬ sented in the race by Mistress Polly The transfer price was 3100 The Colleen Bawn which started in this race will start no more at this meeting for the stewards after the race handed down the following ruling The further entry at this meet ¬ ing of The Colleen Bawn is refused she being too sore to race in her present condition
