PHOENIX NOTABLE FRENCH SIRE DEAD The death is announced at the Lonray Stud near Paris of the French stallion Phoenix the property of Comte le Marois Foaled in 1902 by Royal Hampton dam St Simon mare St Theodora wliicli had been imported into France carrying Phoenix by Comte le Marois the future sire won over 30000 as a three and fouryearold Phoenixs best son was Wagram II second in the Grand Prix de Paris of 1912 Two more of his progeny were notable during the war term Royal Eagle and Clemeucia both good performers in French racing j wvv
