SIR BARTON FASTER THAN ORMONDE ORMONDENKW NKW YORK N Y July 1 Thomas Lallcy William Hogau who trains the stable of P A Clark and H G Bedwell trainer of the string owned by Commander J K L Ross were recently discussing the quality of Sir Barton During the conversation addressing Hoian Lalley remarked It is a good thing for Dtinboyne that he got hurt and hasnt had to run after that fellow of Bed wells wellsHogan Hogan promptly replied Oh Dunboyne isnt hurt so badly as you think He is getting along all right But it is a good tiling for his health that he doesnt have to tackle Sir Barton and its a good thing for Billy Kellys health that Sir Bar ¬ ton is in his stable to protect him Billy Kelly doesnt have to do the big work for the stable Then he added I saw Ormonde run and I thought he was the fastest horse I ever saw but I dont know BartonAsked whether he was faster than Sir Barton Asked by Hogan what horse in his stable he liked best Bedwell answered answeredI I like Billy Kelly best not because he is the best race horse but because he has the best dis ¬ position You can go into the stall and talk to Billy Kelly and you can go out on the track and talk to him and he will talk back to you or come as near It as a horse can Sir Barton is different If you go out into his stall he wants to take a bite at your arm or leg He is full of life in the stall and a loafer on the track I have an awful time getting him to work To get him to work I generally have to use two horses horsesHe He works at the right time in races com ¬ mented Hogan
