KENTUCKY RACING PROSPERITY Directors of Jockey Club Hold a Comfortable Meet ¬ ing Future Racing Dates LOUISVILLE Ky July 8 Reports on the recent Latonia race meeting were heard from general manager Matt J Winn at a meeting of the directors of the Kentucky Jockey Club held yesterday after ¬ noon at the headquarters of the organization in the Paul Jones building this city Plans for the fall racing season were discussed but they are being held In abeyance pending a meeting of the Kentucky State Racing Commission which will be held to ¬ morrow in Lexington Out side of this only routine business was transacted transactedThe The general belief here is that ten days racing will be sought for Lexington beginning September 13 twentyfive days for Latonia opening on Sep ¬ tember 27 and ending on October 25 and sixteen days for Churchill Downs with no openiig date decided as yet Regardless of the date allotments Latonia is a certainty to follow Lexington in the autumn instead of getting the last meeting of the year in the Blue Grass State as formerly formerlyMuch Much gratification was expressed over the recent Latonia meeting and it was better than the expec ¬ tations of the directors of the Kentucky Jockey Club Resident manager Harry Brievogel was complimented in strong terms for his work in connection with the meeting at the Milldale course courseMany Many of the horsemen who plan to spend the warm months in this city are returning from La ¬ tonia and Churchill Downs and Douglas Park will soon house a large number of horses The Marshall brought their string in today including Courtship winner of the Enquirer Handicap and he will be given a good rest John Huffman brought Mary H from Latonia after her worst racing season as it marked the first time that she went through the Kentucky circuit without winning a race raceSarter Sarter A B Dade stopped over for a day or two en route to his home in Henderson Ky Later in the season he Is to take a fishing trip in Michigan MichiganJockey Jockey J Morys has severed liis connection with the J C Milam stable and will ride in the future for J S Hawkins HawkinsGeneral General manager Winn motored down from his home in Covington and back for the directors meeting He will stay at Latonia for a few weeks and then go to Saratoga
