SIRE BRUMMEL PERISHES IN FLAMES LEXINGTON Ky July 30 During a rainstorm late yesterday afternoon lightning struck the one stall stable in which the stallion Brummel was quartered at John H Barbees Glen Helen Stud and before the men could reach it the structure was a seething mass of flames and the thoroughbred stallion was dead Brummel was eleven years old by Desmond Beautys Daughter by Gallinule He was owned three parts by John H Barbee and one part by Lucas and Brownell Combs His value was 10000 and he was not insured 1
