ROAMER TO RACE NO MORE THIS YEAR SARATOGA SPRINGS N Y August 1 A cur ¬ sory examination to the extent that Roamers swol ¬ len leg would permit decided Dr McCully that the injury was sufficient to deem it advisable that the horse be rested from racing for some time and Roamer will as a result oiT the decision take part no more this year in any turf struggles He will be rested in his present quarters during the Saratoga meeting and at Its conclusion be sent to Red Bank N J where he will be turned out to roam a spacious paddock The retirement is ex ¬ pected to be beneficial and his lengthy letup from training and racing will it Is thought bring about a full recovery from the Injury Roamers admirers and there are legions of them sincerely regret that the old gelding WUH not spared until he had an opportunity of winning one or two more races so that he would have gained the additional fume of Laving won 100000 or more
