DEER PLENTIFUL IN CALIFORNIA SAN FRANCISCO, Cal., August 25. Deer hunters in California are having much better hunting this season than at any time in the last several years. A party of nine, composed of-"bus1ness men. from the bay cities, shot nine bucks in nine days recently, according to M. S. Clark, deputy in the State Fish and Game Commission. Out of eighty-two licenses recently examined by representatives of the commission, Clark says forty-one deer were killed. This is said to be one of the best records ever made in the state. Deer hunting is reported especially good in Lake, Monterey, Mendocino and Sonoma Counties. Bucks are reported plentiful and more bucks were killed up to August 15 this year than for the entire season of last year.
